Seguimos aquí a poner al día el blog.

En esta entrada os voy a contar el campamento que hicimos para los niños de Zvolen durante el 14 al 18 de Julio.

El lunes empezamos a modo introductorio, conocí a mis compañeros y a los niños que iban a venir por la semana, unos 12. Mis tareas durante la semana era ayudar a los monitores y dar breves clases de inglés a los niños.

El martes después de una mañana de calor tremenda y hacer varias actividades fuimos a un rancho a las afueras de la ciudad, allí cayó una tormenta grandísima, algo más que normal en este país, está siendo un verano de calor y lluvias. En el rancho después de la lluvia, disfrutamos de los animales y de un paseo en caballo. Fue un día muy divertido.

Ranch Day

Los demás días aparte de las actividades normales, había otras especiales como tiro al arco, juegos y dinámicas, caza del tesoro, el jueves fuimos a la piscina, aunque el día no nos acompañó, en realidad, toda la semana fue igual, sol y lluvia. 

Pero al final de todo, los niños disfrutaron del campamento y de las actividades. Para mí fue todo un reto, ya que tuve que mejorar un poco mi eslovaco, ya que los niños no hablaban inglés y casi tampoco los monitores, todo un reto que no impidió que lo pasara fenomenal y prepararme para el gran campamento que me esperaba en Terchova con niños autistas, el cual será otro post.

P.D. Mientras tanto, en Detva, descubrí la tetería que han abierto desde julio y aquí vengo todas las tardes que tengo libre y dar clases de español a Adela, una de las camareras más guapas que he conocido ;) y pasar buenas veladas con amigos.

Here we are to update the blog. 

In this post I'll tell you we made camp for the children in Zvolen for 14th to18th of July. 

On Monday we started introductory way, I met my colleagues and children would. My tasks during the week was to help monitor and give short English lessons to children. 

On Tuesday, after a morning of tremendous heat and do various activities we went on a ranch outside of town, there we dropped a huge storm, more than usual in this country, is still a hot and rainy summer. At the ranch after rain, we saw the animals and enjoyed a ride on horses. It was a funny day. 

Other days apart from normal activities, as were other special archery, games and activities, treasure hunt, on Thursday we went swimming, although the day did not accompany us, in fact, the whole week was the same, sun and rain. 

But the end of all, the children enjoyed the camp and activities. For me it was a challenge, as I had to improve a bit my Slovak, because children did not speak English and almost no monitors, a challenge that did not stop that everything was great and ready for the big camp waiting for me in Terchova with autistic children, which will be in another post.

P.S. Meanwhile, in Detva I discovered the tearoom that opened since July and I come here every afternoon I have free and teach Spanish to Adela, one of the most beautiful waitresses I've met;) and spend evenings with good friends.

European Folk Festival

Después de un viaje magnífico, ya me acomodé en mi nuevo alojamiento, ahora tengo un cuarto más grande en la casa de mi coordinador, este verano viviré con la familia, una nueva experiencia.

Festival

Esa semana la tomé de descanso ya que desde el 11 al 13 de Julio es el Festival Folclórico de Detva, uno de los más grandes de Eslovaquia. El miércoles y el jueves estuvimos en el centro de juventud con un grupo de Finlandia para trabajar con los niños gitanos, hicimos juegos, pintacaras y varias actividades y durante el festival tendrían su puesto para vender sus diseños y pintacaras. 

El viernes llegaron dos voluntarios, Maikel y Kaan, después de un buen goulash, fuimos a preparar la tienda y los puestos en el festival. Este día fue de descanso, solo disfrutamos de los puestos, la música y el lugar. Acabamos pronto la noche y el sábado tomamos un buen desayuno y fuimos al festival dónde empezamos las actividades y posteriormente llegó otro voluntario, Thomas de Zilina y sobre mediodía Nuria.

Después de pasar una mañana y tarde disfrutando del festival, pasamos la velada en casa de mi amigo Pablo, comiendo y bebiendo.
El domingo después de una gran fiesta, tomamos un buen desayuno y nos dispusimos a preparar otra mañana de manualidades, en la cual la dedicamos a hacer pulseras de aceite y dibujos de sal de colores.
Después del almuerzo, Kaan, Maikel y Nuria se marcharon, ella volvía a España acabando su voluntariado.
Thomas y yo hicimos por la tarde una ruta de senderismo en Hrinova para llegar a las cascadas donde estuvimos de relajación y admirando el paisaje, para más tarde volver a Detva con autostop. Después de un buen descanso fuimos a ver la final del Mundial de Fútbol, dónde Alemania ganó por 1-0 a Argentina en la prórroga. Volvimos a casa y Thomas se marchó para Zilina a la mañana siguiente y yo empezaba esa semana un campamento diario en Zvolen que os lo contaré en la siguiente entrada.

After a great trip, and I settled into my new place, now I have a larger room in my coordinator's house, this summer I will live with the family, a new experience. 

Way to the Festival

That week I took off as from 11th to 13th of July was Detva Folk Festival, one of the largest in Slovakia. On Wednesday and Thursday we were at the youth center with a group from Finland to work with Roma children, they did games, face painting and various activities, during the festival they had their position to sell their designs and face painting. 
On Friday came two volunteers, Maikel and Kaan, after a good goulash, we went to the store and prepare stalls at the festival. This day was relaxing, just enjoyed the stalls, music and place. We soon took on Saturday night and a good breakfast and went to the festival where activities started and then came another volunteer, Thomas Zilina and Nuria noon. 
After spending a morning and evening enjoying the festival, we spent the evening with my friend Pablo, eating and drinking. 
On Sunday after a big party, we had a good breakfast and we set out to prepare another morning of crafts, which was spent making bracelets oil and salt colored drawings. 
After lunch, Kaan, Maikel y Nuria left, she returned to Spain finishing her volunteering.
Thomas and I took the afternoon a hiking trail in Hrinova to reach the waterfalls where we were relaxing and admiring the views, later we came back to Detva with hitchhiking. After a good rest we went to see the final of the World Cup, where Germany won 1-0 to Argentina in extra time. Thomas came home next day to Zilina and I started this week, a daily camp in Zvolen which I will tell in the next post.

Road Trip (Bosnia) - Part 3

Hola de nuevo!!!

Estoy teniendo un verano muy ajetreado y se me están acumulando las tareas, pero esta semana que la tengo más despejada, prometo ponerme al día.

Old Bridge - Mostar

Aquí os voy a relatar el último paso de mi viaje a los Balcanes, después de pasar por Croacia, cruzamos la frontera para llegar a Bosnia, después del control de pasaportes y unas cuantas horas de bus llegamos de noche a la famosa ciudad de Mostar, nos ofrecieron alojamiento muy barato en el centro de la ciudad, así que lo aceptamos y fuimos para allá. Salimos a ver el centro de la ciudad, super bonita y unas vistas espectaculares. Mostar

Al día siguiente visitamos toda la ciudad después de un buen desayuno, Burek, típico turco, ya que Bosnia es un país musulmán. vimos algunas mezquitas donde disfrutamos de unas vistas espectaculares y del Puente Viejo, reconstruido todo después de la Guerra de Bosnia de 1992.

Después de disfrutar de la mañana con un buen helado, souvenirs y ver a gente saltar del puente, fuimos en bus a Blagaj, un pueblo donde se encuentra un maravilloso enclave, el río con una casa de estilo otomano en un acantilado.

Regresamos a la ciudad dónde comimos y después de recoger nuestras cosas fuimos a la estación de tren para ir a Sarajevo, ya que el viaje era muy barato.

Y llegamos a nuestro destino final, nos recogieron en coche y fuimos a nuestro hostal, vimos la ciudad de noche y comimos unos dulces típicos turcos.
El último día disfrutamos de la ciudad y de su centro, las mezquitas, la catedral, todo el arte urbano y después fuimos al Tunel Spasa, dónde los bosnios escapaban del asedio de los serbios en la guerra. Después de saber más de la historia del país, llegamos a la ciudad otra vez, donde comimos típica comida turca, relajarnos fumando shisha y por la noche disfrutando del partido de fútbol.

Al día siguiente de mañana, el grupo se fue para Belgrado, pero yo regresé a Eslovaquia tras más de 12 horas de bus (que pasé durmiendo) pasando por Viena y por casa de Juan en Bratislava, a la mañana siguiente salí para Detva dónde pude descansar del viaje.

Turkish desserts

I am having a very busy summer and I are accumulating tasks, but this week I have it more clear, I promise to updating my blog. 

Here I am about to relate the last step of my trip to the Balkans, after passing Croatia crossed the border into Bosnia, after passport control and a few hours of night, the bus arrived at the famous city of Mostar, offered very cheap in the city center accommodation, so we accept it and went there. We went to see the city center, super beautiful and spectacular views. Mostar

The next day we visited the whole city after a good breakfast, Burek, typical Turkish, Bosnia is a Muslim country. we saw some mosques where we enjoyed spectacular views and the Old Bridge, rebuilt especially after the 1992 Bosnian War.

After enjoying the morning with a good ice cream, souvenirs and see people jump off the bridge, we went by bus to Blagaj, a village where there is a wonderful location, the river with Ottoman-style house on a cliff.

We returned to the city where we ate and after collecting our stuff went to the train station to go to Sarajevo, as the trip was very cheap. 

And we got to our destination, we were picked up car and drove to our hostel, we saw the city at night and ate a typical Turkish sweets. 
The last day we enjoyed the city and its center, mosque, cathedral, all the urban art and then went to Tunel SPASA, Tunnel where escaped the siege of Bosnian Serbs in the war. After learning more about the history of the country, we reached the town again, where we ate typical Turkish food, relax, smoking shisha and evening enjoying the football game. 
The next day, the group went to Belgrade, but I returned to Slovakia after more than 12 hours of bus (I spent sleeping) via Vienna and Bratislava Juan home, the next morning I went to Detva where I could rest of the trip.

Road Trip - Croatia (Part 2)

Continuamos con nuestro viaje, después de hacer autostop en Zadar, llegamos a nuestro destino en Split, puedes leer sobre esta maravillosa ciudad en este link Split

Una maravillosa ciudad dónde se encuentra el palacio del emperador romano Diocleciano.

Buscamos alojamiento y tras unas negociaciones con una señora que alquilaba cuartos, nos quedamos a un precio muy barato en pleno centro, tomamos una buena ducha después de unos días duros de viaje y salimos a disfrutar la noche.

El lugar era espectacular, gran vida nocturna y buena comida y bebida y unos ricos helados, esa noche fuimos a descansar pronto debido al agotamiento.

El día siguiente fue un día de mucha calor después de una gran tormenta por la noche, hicimos turismo por la ciudad, vimos la catedral, el palacio, los lugares interesantes de la zona y compra de algunos recuerdos.

Después de preparar la comida y almorzar, recogimos nuestras cosas y decidimos ir en barco hacia Dubrovnik, ya que era prácticamente el mismo precio que en bus y más divertido. El barco no salía hasta la mañana siguiente, así que decidimos dejar nuestras pertenencias en las taquillas de la estación e irnos a la playa, allí estuvimos toda la tarde y por la noche comimos nuestra comida en un parque y estuvimos por el centro y pasamos la noche en un parque hasta el día siguiente cuando zarpó nuestro barco a Dubrovnik.

El viaje a Dubrovnik fue genial, viajando por toda la costa y haciendo fotos, al llegar a la ciudad fuimos al centro y nos quedamos deslumbrados de la maravilla de ciudad, pero durante toda la tarde estuvimos buscando alojamiento, después de conocer a varia gente y pudimos dejar nuestros equipajes, un chico nos acogió. Pasamos unos días fenomenal en la ciudad dónde ruedan escenas de la famosa serie de "Game of Thrones". Todos los días por la mañana íbamos a la playa y por la tarde, ruta turística. El jueves 3 de julio por la tarde tomamos el bus para ir al siguiente destino en otro país, Bosnia, las ciudades de Mostar y Sarajevo nos esperan en el final de nuestro viaje.

We continue our trip, after hitchhiking in Zadar, we reached our destination in Split, you can read about this wonderful city at this link Split

Way to Dubrovnik

We seek accommodation and after negotiations with a lady who rented rooms, we stayed at a very cheap price in the city center, take a good shower after a hard day trip and went out to enjoy the night. 
The place was great, great nightlife and good food and drink and a rich cream that night went to rest early due to exhaustion. 
The next day was a very hot day after a big thunderstorm, we did sightseeing, we saw the cathedral, the castle, the interesting places in the area and buy some souvenirs.

After preparing food and having lunch, we picked up our stuff and decided to go by boat to Dubrovnik, as it was virtually the same price as bus and more fun. The boat did not leave until the next morning, so we decided to leave our belongings in the lockers of the station and go to the beach, there were all afternoon and evening we ate our meal at a park and we were in the center and spent night in a park until the next day when our ship sailed to Dubrovnik. 

The trip to Dubrovnik was great, traveling along the coast and taking pictures, to reach the city we went downtown and we were dazzled by the wonder of town, but all afternoon we were looking for accommodation, after meeting various people and we could leave our luggage, a guy welcomed us. We spent a great day in the city where shooting scenes of the famous series "Game of Thrones". Every day in the morning we went to the beach and for the afternoon tour in the city. On Thursday, July 3 afternoon we took the bus to go to the next destination in another country, Bosnia, the cities of Mostar and Sarajevo await us at the end of our trip.

Road Trip - Croatia (Part 1)

Ya estoy de vuelta del gran viaje a Croacia y a Bosnia. Cómo es un poco largo, lo voy a contar por partes, en esta entrada será desde la salida hasta la llegada a Split.

El miércoles 25 de junio salí de Detva camino a Nitra para encontrarme con Maikel y de allí tomamos camino para Velky Meder, la ciudad donde vive Eli, allí pasamos la noche disfrutando de buena compañía y gente. Al día siguiente salimos temprano para hacer autostop hasta Hungría, fácilmente nos recogieron y llegamos a Gyor, después de un día complicado llegamos hasta la frontera húngara con Croacia, pero al ser tarde, nos quedamos a dormir en una gasolinera.

El viernes seguimos con el autostop y llegamos hasta la frontera, después de un duro día y difícil llegamos al pueblo más cercano dónde conocimos a un chico que nos llevó a la ciudad más cercana y tomamos el bus a Zagreb. Una vez allí, nos encontramos con Kaan y Nuria y descansamos en la casa de un couchsurfer y fuimos a dar una vuelta por el centro.

Al día siguiente, nos levantamos temprano y fuimos en bus hasta Plitvička Jezera, un parque nacional de unos lagos preciosos, pasamos un día fenomenal. Al final de la tarde, hicimos autostop hasta Zadar, otra ciudad croata cerca de la costa, nos recogió una furgoneta y nos dejó en el pueblo más cercano y después otro coche hasta la salida de la autovía, allí paró un minibus que nos llevó hasta el centro.

Después de una cena rápida a base de lentejas, vimos el centro y a ver un partido, allí nos recomendaron un lugar para dormir, un camping público, fuimos allí y montamos la tienda, fue una noche de mucha calor y llena de mosquitos. El domingo estuvimos en la playa a relajarnos y fuimos a la ciudad donde almorzamos en otro parque y un coche nos llevó a la carretera para ir a Split. Allí tomamos otro coche para llegar a nuestro destino.

Now I'm back from the big trip to Croatia and Bosnia. How is a bit long, I'll tell you in parts, in this post will be from departure to arrival in Split. 

On Wednesday June 25th I left Detva to Nitra, in the way I met Maikel and we went to Velky Meder, the city where Eli lives, we spent the night there enjoying good company and people. The next day we left early to hitchhike to Hungary, easily picked up and got to Gyor, after a difficult day we reached the Hungarian border with Croatia, but being late, we slept at a gas station. 


On Friday we continue hitchhiking and got to the border, after a hard day and hard got to the nearest town where we met a guy who took us to the nearest town and take the bus to Zagreb. Once there, we found Kaan and Nuria and rest in the house of a couchsurfer and went for a drive down the middle. 

The next day we got up early and went by bus to Plitvička Jezera, a national park with beautiful lakes, we had a great day. By late afternoon, we hitchhiked to Zadar, another Croatian town near the sea, we got a van and dropped off at the nearest town and then another car to exit the highway, there stopped a minibus that took us to the center. 

After a quick dinner of lentils, we saw the center and we see a match, people recommended a place to sleep, a public camping, we went there and assemble the tent, it was a night of very hot and full of mosquitos. On Sunday we were on the beach to relax and went to the city where we had lunch at another park and a car took us to the road to go to Split. There we took another car to get to our destination.
