UN MES - ONE MONTH

Parece mentira, pero ya ha pasado un mes desde que llegué a Eslovaquia para hacer este EVS, el tiempo pasa super rápido y no nos damos cuenta hasta que llega el final, pero todavía queda mucho camino que recorrer. Mientras tanto, el invierno ya está aquí, toda la semana ha estado nublado, lloviendo, con temperaturas máximas que no pasan de los 10ºC, pero todo marcha bien, las clases en el instituto, la preparación de proyectos, el trabajo con los chicos del centro social.
ME GUSTA LO QUE HAGO :) Teniendo en cuenta que me esperan 5 días en Oščadnica, una bonita localidad al noroeste del país para hacer un curso de preparación y donde vamos a acomodarnos en una maravillosa cabaña-pensión.

Seems like a lie, but has gone one month since that I came to Slovakia to do this EVS, time goes really fast and we don't care until end is coming, BUT I have a lot of time yet. Meanwhile, winter is here, whole week has been cloudy, raining, with maximum temperatures about 10ºC, but everything is running well, lessons in high school, making projects, workshops with teens in the social center. I LIKE WHAT I DO :) 
En attendant that I have 5 days in Oščadnica  a nice village in the northwest of the country to do a training course and we are going to stay in a nice cottage-hostel.

Halloween y Viaje a Budapest - Spanish Halloween and Budapest

Ahoj!!!

Aquí os voy a contar como ha ido estos primeros días desde que cambiaron la hora y los días van siendo más cortos. Realizamos otro taller con los chicos discapacitados dónde mediante platos de papel, hicieron máscaras para Halloween y fuimos a otra escuela de primaria para hablar de los programas europeos.

Al día siguiente, fuimos por las calles disfrazados, pasando una velada muy divertida.

En el centro de ocio preparamos un Halloween con comida española, así que estuvimos cocinando tortilla de patatas y porra. El resultado fue exquisito y la gente les gustó ese toque español a la fiesta de Halloween, después degustaron tinto de verano y sangría para rematar la fiesta española.

Después de esta semana tan corta de trabajo, me tomé unas vacaciones a Budapest, la maravillosa capital de Hungría, allí me quedé en casa de una amiga húngara que conocí en Málaga, fuimos de fiesta y me presentó a sus amigos y el ambiente de la ciudad.

Durante los siguientes días hice un tour por la ciudad, visitando todo lo posible y los monumentos, quedándome fascinado de lo bonita que es y las vistas de un lado a otro del río Danubio. Aparte de que los precios eran desorbitados (solo en número, ya que 1€ equivale a casi 300 Florines) todo es muy barato, estuve 4 días con poco dinero e hice de todo. Probé la rica comida húngara, un goulash exquisito y un dulce típico Kürtöskalács.

Han sido unas mini vacaciones geniales para empezar otra semana de trabajo, ya con mi horario definitivo y viendo que el invierno se acerca, empieza a llover y refrescar bastante, sacando guantes y ropa de invierno. Y preparado para el Curso de Iniciación con todos los voluntarios llegados a Eslovaquia que se va a realizar del 8 al 12 de Noviembre en Oščadnica, un pueblo al Norte cerca de Polonia. Pero eso será para la próxima entrada.

 Here I am gonna tell you these firsts days since changed time and days are shorter. We made other workshop with disabled people and they made mask with paper plates and we went to other school to talk about european programs.

Next day, we went with costumes for streets, spending a really nice night. In the youth center, we prepare a Spanish Halloween with food, we were cooking Tortilla and Porra. Result was excellent, people enjoyed it and after some taste Tinto de verano and Sangría.

After this short week, I went to holidays to Budapest, the beautiful capital of Hungary, there I stayed in a friend's house and we went to party, friends.

Next days, I went sighseeing the city, visiting everything, monuments and enjoying the nice views of Budapest since every side of the Danube river.The prices was really high (just in number, 1€ amost 300 HF) because everything was cheap. I tasted the delicious hungarian food, a goulash and the typical sweet, Kurtoskalacs.

After this mini holidays, I started the week with my ultimate Timetable and seeing that winter is coming, raining and colder, taking gloves and winter clothes. And ready to the Arrival Training course with volunteers that will be in Oscadnica 8-12 November, a village in the north, near to Poland. But this will be for next one.

Primeros Findes en Detva y comienzo de mi trabajo - 1st weekends in Detva and starting job

Estoy aquí de vuelta, después de una semana intensiva de trabajo. Antes de comenzar la semana, pasé un fin de semana tranquilo asistiendo a una matanza de ovejas y con Livia en la montaña en un casita donde pasamos la tarde.

El comienzo de la semana fue preparando el trabajo, presentaciones sobre el programa Juventud en Acción en la escuela primaria y sobre la fiesta de bienvenida-Halloween que será el 30 octubre. En el centro social, estuvimos haciendo cajitas de serpentinas, que a todo el mundo le gustó.

El martes empezaron las clases de español e inglés por la tarde, asistió bastante gente y fue muy gratificante el éxito que tuvieron las clases, que serán todos los martes y jueves.

El miércoles fue un día genial ya que me invitaron los alumnos a una fiesta de in-matriculación donde se hacen bromas, juegos, como una ceremonia para los nuevos alumnos. Por la tarde-noche se celebró en el instituto una discoteca dónde bailamos sin parar.

El jueves y viernes fueron las clases intensivas con los alumnos en el instituto. Después de una semana intensa, un poco de fiesta con unas amigas en Banska Bystrica en Ministry of Fun, una de las más grandes discotecas de la zona, una fiesta espectacular para descansar el sábado con estos 20ºC tomando el sol en la montaña.
Y el próximo jueves hay puente, toca viajecito a Budapest para visitar a unos amigos.

I am here again, after an intensive work week. Before start this week, I spent a relax weekend looking a sheep's slaughter and with Livia in the mountain in a cottage where we were sunday afternoon.

The beginning of the week was organizing my job, presentations about Youth in Action Programme in the primary school and about the welcome party-Halloween it'll be 30th october. In the social center, we were doing streamer box, that everybody liked.

Tuesday was the first day of English and Spanish lessons in the afternoon, were a lot of people and was really succesfull my classes, that will be every tuesday and thursday.

Wednesday was a great day, the students invite me to the in-matriculation party, was like a ceremony with games, jokes for the new students. Afternoon-evening was a disco in the high school where we danced without stop.

Thursday and Friday were the intensives classes with my students but great. After a hard week of job, a bit party with a friends in Banska Bystrica in Ministry of Fun, one of the biggest disco of this region, an awesome party and relax this saturday with 20ºC taking sun in the hill.
Next Thursday there are Autunm Holidays, I will go to Budapest to visit some friends :)

Mi primera semana y nuevo horario - My first week and new timetable

Hola otra vez, en esta entrada os voy a contar como ha ido la primera semana de proyecto.

Ha sido una semana muy movidita, el lunes comenzó con mi coordinador preparando las presentaciones para las clases de inglés y español al público en general y después en el centro social dónde conocí a los niños con pocas oportunidades y ver que tipo de actividades realizar. Este primer día les ayudé a limpiar las hojas del jardín, ya que el otoño se nota bastante en el pueblo, ya que todos los árboles son de hoja caduca. Esa tarde hicimos una breve visita a los lugares del alrededor con unas vistas increibles.

El martes estuve en el centro de juventud preparando actividades para la semana próxima y mis compañeras me propusieron realizar una actividad infantil para el miércoles. este día ha sido por ahora el más lluvioso de todos, no paró de llover. En el instituto conocí a mi coordinadora para dar las clases a los alumnos. Estaré en el instituto jueves y viernes dando clases de conversación en inglés 4 horas cada día, 8 clases distintas y más de 100 alumnos, una locura para aprenderme los nombres :) pero poco a poco y ya estoy haciendo amistades con los estudiantes contentos de tener un español. Estos primeros días fueron de presentación y algunas actividades.

Tuve mi primera clase de eslovaco con mi mentor Livia, una chica muy simpática que salimos para tomar algo, hablar, viajes, etc.

Ah, para terminar, tengo cuarto nuevo, más grande, más bonito y con una mesa de noche para poner mis cosas. Ya tengo mi horario definitivo de trabajo y cada día que pasa estoy ampliando mi círculo de amistades ;)

Hello again, in this post I am going to tell you how has been my first week of project.

Was a really active, Monday started with my coordinator doing presentations for English and Spanish lessons to the general public and after I went to the Social center where I met the children with few opportunities and check what kind of activities do with them. This first day I helped them to clean the leaves in the garden, because autumn is here. That day we visited some interested places in the afternoon with Matej.

On Tuesday I were in the youth center organizing activities for next week and my colleagues proposed me a kid song to show them on wednesday. This day was really rainy, I went to the high school and I met my English coordinator and she explained me my timetable there and the classes where I have to give English lessons. I will be there on Thursday and Friday 4 hours per day, 8 different classes and more that 100 students XD, was crazy to learn names ;) but step by step, and I am starting to make friendship with them, happy to have a Spanish with them. We introduced ourselves and we did some activities.

Also, I had my first slovak lesson with my mentor Livia, a friendly and nice girl, we go out for some drinks, talk, party, go out on weekends, etc.

Yeah, to finish this post, I have a new room, 207, bigger, nicer and with a night table to put my stuff. And i have my new schedule, now I am happy about my job here and everyday I am increasing my friendship ;)

Encuentro en Bratislava y Viena - Meeting G2G

El primer fin de semana ha sido de viaje a Bratislava para encontrarme con mi amiga polaca Alicja que nos conocimos en Bruselas en mis prácticas en la Escuela Europea. Después de un viaje de 3 horas desde Detva llegué a mi ciudad Erasmus dónde me recogió una amiga CS y fuimos al aeropuerto a por Alicja.

Fuimos a casa y cenamos en la casa de Daniela y nos preparamos para la fiesta en Bratislava, la cual fue genial.

Pasamos una noche genial en la ciudad y tomamos el sábado un tren a Viena, allí me encontré con Anton y durante todo el día nos encontramos con gente de Austria y Eslovenia de varios proyectos de intercambios juveniles y disfrutamos la tarde y noche por los lugares de la ciudad.

Después de 2 noches de fiesta, Anton y yo visitamos la famosa calle Handerwasser de diseños coloridos y un paseo por el parque dónde acabamos en plater comiendo un buen codillo.

Al final del día despues de un largo viaje llegue a Detva para comenzar la semana de trabajo.

My first weekend I went to Bratislava to meet with my polish friend Alicja who met her in Brussels in my internship in European School. Aftera long trip of 3 hours by bus I came to my erasmus city, Bratislava where pick me up a CS girl and we went to airport to take Alicja.

We went to house and we took dinner in Daniela's house and we prepare to go party, was great.

We spent a great night in the city and we took a train to Vienna on saturday to Vienna, there I met with Anton and more austrian and Slovenian of G2G youth projects and we enjoy evening all together.

Sunday we visit Handerwasser street, famous colorful art street and walk around park and we finish in a nice restaurant eating a good knuckle.

At the end of the day, after a log trip from Viena I came to Detva to start my first worlking week.

Horario de trabajo y Ice-hockey / Work timetable

Como podeis ver, sigo con mi blog, es como un diario (por ahora) :)

Con mi coordinador terminamos de preparar mi horario de trabajo, una semana muy activa (como el propio nombre de mi blog) no me voy a aburrir ;)

La mañana fue muy amena, fuimos a la casa de la suegra de mi coordinador dónde conocí a su hija y comí una deliciosa sopa. Después fuimos a la casa de Matej y me enseñó su granja y fuimos por la montaña a pasear a su perra Kiara y me mostró las actividades hechas por su asociación y recogiendo setas y echando unas risas.

Por la tarde quedamos para ver el partido de Hockey sobre hielo, que jugaba el equipo local, fue espectacular, estuvimos en la zona VIP, dónde nos ofrecieron de comer y beber mientras disfrutábamos de un gran juego. Por cierto, ganó 4-2 el equipo local. 

Un día genial, poquito que contar pero intenso :)

Hi, you can see, my blog is like a diary (right now) :)

My coordinator and me we ended my working timetable, a really active week (like my blog's name), I don't get bored ;)

Morning was really relax, we went to Matej's mother in law where i met his daugther and I ate a tasty soup. After we went to his house and he show me his farm and we went to walk in the mountain with his dog Kiara and show me activities done with the organization and picking mushrooms and smiling.

We spent the afternoon to watch the Ice hockey match that played the local team, was amazing, we were in VIP place, they offer us food and drink. Was a really nice game, by the way, local team won 4-2.

Introducción a mi EVS - Introduction

Bueno, aquí continuamos con la siguiente entrada del blog.

Bar near to my house

Mi coordinador me llevó a un bar muy bueno la primera noche a UN EURO una pinta de cerveza. Después de ver los precios baratos de la zona, la mañana la dedicamos a abrirme una cuenta del banco, sacar mi número de teléfono y a enseñarme los lugares de interés del lugar, como los supermercados, dónde compré todas las provisiones para bastante tiempo.

Por la tarde tuve libre para seguir investigando la ciudad, dónde descubrí varias tiendas y lugares dónde ir y pasar el tiempo libre, como una bolera y un gimnasio baratísimo y completamente nuevo.

Al día siguiente, quedamos con mi coordinador para mostrarme los lugares de trabajo, fuimos al LTC centre (Centro de Tiempo Libre) dónde vamos a realizar actividades para jóvenes y niños, lo divertido va a ser la comunicación, mis 3 compañeras no hablan nada de inglés, así que mucho lenguaje corporal por ahora.

Al final de la mañana, fuimos a ver el centro social dónde voy a realizar actividades con gente discapacitada y allí una chica me ayudará con las traducciones, empezaremos el próximo lunes para una reunión de coordinación. Después fuimos al instituto dónde me presentaron a todos los profesores y mis compañeras de inglés para empezar la semana próxima con las clases, todos muy simpáticos y contentos de tener alguien extranjero en el profesorado.

Después de una mañana movida, por la tarde libre fui a pasear por los bosques de la zona, unas vistas increibles, que sin duda investigaré más en los próximos meses.

Here is the second post of the blog.

My coordinator picked me up to a very nice bar the first night and a pint of beer cost just ONE EURO. After check cheap prices of the town, next morning we spent to go to Bank and open my own slovak account, get my phone number, show me the interesting places, like supermarkets, where i bought everything.

Afternoon, I had free time to discover city, with many shops and bars, bowling and a really cheap fitness center.

Next day, I went with my coordinator to visit my working places, LTC centre (Leisure Time Center) where we are going to do activities with children and youngsters, funny will be the communication with my colleagues, they don`t speak English, we will use a lot body language :)

At the end of the morning we went to the social center, there I am going to do activities and games for disabled people and with handicaps, I will have the help for a translator and we will start next monday with a coordination. At the end we went to the high school, there I met all teachers and my English colleagues with who are going to teach English next week. All people was always friendly with me.

After a good day, in the afternoon I went do walk through the mountains around my house, a nice landviews and forests that in the next months I will intestigate a lot.
