Después de bastante tiempo sin escribir, os voy a contar lo acontecido del principio de mes, del 8 al 18 de mayo se realizó un intercambio juvenil con Polonia y la comunidad gitana de Detva, estuve de colaborador durante algunos días cuando llegué de Cracovia el 12, hicimos dinámicas, juegos, presentaciones. El objetivo de este proyecto era el baile, la música y los deportes. Una semana amena y divertida dónde hicimos buenos amigos y nuevas ideas de futuro.

Mientras tanto, paralelamente, en la escuela se celebraba la despedida de los alumnos de cuarto, el último día se hizo una fiesta en el instituto y al día siguiente en la casa de la cultura una cena-baile llamada majales ya que se celebra en Mayo.

Fue una semana completita, pero sin faltar la lluvia, unos días pasados por agua y frío pero Málaga estaba esperando para el sol y el calor, ya os contaré en la siguiente entrada.

After a long time without writing, I will tell you what happened in the beginning of the month, from 8 to 18 May a youth exchange with Poland and the Roma community of Detva was done, I was a collaborator for a few days when I arrived from Krakow, we made dynamics, games, presentations. The objective of this project was dancing, music and sports. A fun and entertaining week where we became good friends and new ideas for the future.

Meanwhile, in parallel, at school celebrated farewell for fourth graders the last day was a party in high school and the next day at the culture house a dinner - dance called majales because is held in May. 

Was a nice week, raining all time,but Málaga was waiting for the sun and heat, I'll tell you in the next post.

Poland - Krakow & Zakopane

Bienvenidos de nuevo!!

En esta entrada hablaré de mi viaje a Polonia que realizamos del 8 al 11 de mayo con los voluntarios de Bratislava.

Way to Krakow

Después de volver de mi Intercambio juvenil en Eslovenia (que se merece otro blog aparte, ya lo veréis proximamente) y aprovechando las últimas vacaciones escolares antes del verano, fuimos en bus desde Bratislava hasta Cracovia unos 10 voluntarios, después de un largo viaje, nos acomodamos en nuestro céntrico hostel y visitamos la ciudad, un día soleado y fantástico dónde me reencontré con una vieja amiga erasmus de Málaga y tuvimos una agradable tarde donde fuimos a descansar pronto por el cansancio acumulado del viaje.

El día siguiente Juan y yo fuimos a Zakopane ya que estuvimos en otra ocasión en Auschwitz, campo de exterminio nazi. Allí es dónde fueron los demás. Aquí podéis ver la info: Auschwitz

Fue un día increible, hicimos una ruta de senderismo por el parque natural, con hermosas vistas, montañas nevadas e incluso un poco de espeleología, un día espectacular acabando en la bonita ciudad de Zakopane y a la noche vuelta a Cracovia a descansar.

El sábado Christoph, Juan y yo hicimos la ruta artística, viendo los museos de arte urbano, el barrio judío y las maravillosas vistas de la ciudad, por el camino me encontré con Cristina, otra voluntaria que había ido a Cracovia. Después de un almuerzo típico (Pierogi) hicimos varias rutas por diferentes bares de la zona para probar las cervezas típicas y acabar con una cena típica (Zapiekanki)

Para terminar el día todos fuimos de fiesta para celebrar el viaje y el domingo temprano tomamos el bus para volver a Bratislava y en mi caso hasta Detva, un día agotador de viaje pero en general increible.

In this post I will talk about my trip to Poland we did from 8th to 11th May with volunteers from Bratislava.

After returning from my Youth Exchange in Slovenia (which deserves another blog apart, you'll see soon) and taking advantage of the last holidays before summer, we went by bus from Bratislava to Krakow about 10 volunteers, after a long trip, we settled into our hostel and visited the central city, a fantastic sunny day where I met again with an old friend Erasmus Malaga and we had a nice evening where we went to rest early in the accumulated fatigue of the journey.

The next day Juan and me went to Zakopane because the others went to Auschwitz, the Nazi death camp, that we were there in the past. 

It was an incredible day, we did a walking trail through the natural park, with beautiful views, snowy mountains and even walking into a cave, ending a nice day in the pretty town of Zakopane and coming back to Krakow.

On Saturday, Christoph, Juan and me took the artistic route, seeing urban art museums, the Jewish Quarter and the wonderful views of the city, along the way I met Cristina, another volunteer who had come to Krakow. After a typical lunch (Pierogi) we made ​​several routes in different bars in the area to taste typical beers and end up with a typical dinner (Zapiekanki)

To end the day we all went up to celebrate the journey and early Sunday we took the bus to return to Bratislava and in my case to Detva, a long day of travel but overall amazing.

Dedicado a mi Primo

Esta entrada es muy distinta a las demás, la hago como un recuerdo para mi querido primo Juan Antonio, ya que ha supuesto un palo muy grande para toda la familia y me está afectando y que marcará el resto de mi EVS.

El 14/5/2014 supone un antes y un después, después de llegar de la escuela, recibí la mala noticia de parte de mi hermano. No puedo estar con ellos en estos momento tan duros, ni en su entierro. Aunque la semana próxima estaré por Málaga y allí estaré para dar un poco de mi apoyo.

Mi primo fue una persona muy trabajadora, luchadora, con su mujer, su hijo, una familia y amigos que lo queriamos muchísimo y feliz de su vida, pero ayer el destino hizo que de un soplo se fuera de este mundo.

Estuvo conmigo en los momentos difíciles, también pasamos muchos ratos buenos y divertidos juntos, desde pequeños, en las fiestas, en el campo, con eso me quedo, con una gran persona de gran corazón que tenía toda una vida por delante pero que se ha marchado demasiado pronto.
Has dejado gente que te quiere y que nunca te olvidará, pero estés donde estés, espero que alumbres el camino de los que has dejado atrás.
Siempre estarás en nuestra memoria.

Earth's Day - Día de la Tierra 2014

Hola

Aquí os voy a contar brevemente cómo celebramos el Día de la Tierra, aunque fue el 22 de abril, ese día era festivo por la Pascua así que lo pasamos a dos días, el Jueves 24 en Zvolen y el 25 en Detva.

En Zvolen fuimos al centro de juventud donde hicimos varios puestos o estaciones donde los alumnos pasaban y hacían varias actividades, tiro al arco, de reciclaje, comida, juegos de pesca, variedad para pasar los alumnos un momento divertido, así hasta el mediodía. Fue un día fantástico, soleado y con mucha actividad.

Al día siguiente, lo celebramos en mi ciudad, Detva, fue algo muy parecido, dónde colaboraron algunos de mis estudiantes, había menos actividades pero hubo poca asistencia, ya que empezó a llover y tuvimos que desmontar todo muy pronto.

En definitiva, fue una actividad genial, próximamente cuando llegue el verano, podremos hacer más.

Mientras tanto, después de esa semana, fuí a Eslovenia dónde realicé un intercambio juvenil con mi asociación juvenil, que eso lo iré contando desde otro blog, pero os invito que lo leáis, ya que fue una experiencia genial.

Ya os contaré en las siguientes entradas, mi viaje a Polonia y una sorpresa para finales de mayo.

Here I will tell you briefly how to celebrate Earth Day, but it was on April 22, that day was a public holiday for Easter so I spent two days on Saturday 24 and 25 in Zvolen and Detva.

In Zvolen we went to the youth center where we did various positions or stations where students passed and they did various activities, archery, recycling, food, fishing games, variety for students to spend a fun time, and until noon. It was a fantastic, sunny and busy day.

The next day we celebrated in my city, Detva where was something similar, where some of my students worked, they had fewer activities but there started to rain and we had to disassemble all very soon.

In short, it was a great activity, when summer arrives soon, we can do more .

Meanwhile, after this week, I went to Slovenia where I conducted a youth exchange with my youth club, that's what I'll tell you from another blog, but I invite you read it because it was a great experience.

Easter (Pascua) in Istanbul (Turkey)

Turkish Breakfast

Cómo os dije en la anterior entrada, aquí os voy a hablar de mis vacaciones de Pascua. Desde que Gema y yo fuimos a Serbia, decidimos visitar Estambul y cuando encontramos un vuelo asequible, allí que lo reservamos y fuimos. Después de una tarde de viaje hasta Budapest dónde teníamos nuestro avión nos quedamos en un hostal y disfrutamos la noche de la ciudad.

Al día siguiente tomamos el avión y llegamos a Estambul, tomamos varios autobuses y después de más de 3 horas, ya que la casa de mi amiga erasmus Nesli está a 70 Km (es la misma ciudad) llegamos, nos acomodamos, una buena ducha, su familia nos preparó una deliciosa cena turca y fuimos a tomar una cerveza con una amiga.

Después de una buena noche de descanso y un típico desayuno turco fuimos al centro después de hora y media de bus y tram, con la locura del tráfico. Visitamos el Gran Bazaar, el mercado más antiguo de Europa y de los más grandes del mundo, con más 60 calles y 4000 tiendas, una maravilla de lugar dónde puedes encontrar de todo.

A continuación visitamos las plazas de la parte vieja dónde se encuentran el Museo Sofia, una de las maravillas del mundo, ya que este edificio puedes ver la opulencia del Imperio Bizantino y la Mezquita que fue después de la conquista de Constantinopla, mereció la pena, la larga cola y el precio.

Después visitamos la Mezquita Azul, otra gran maravilla del Imperio Otomano.

Seguimos por las antiguas murallas y cruzamos el puente para ver la Torre Galata donde subimos y vimos las grandes vistas de la ciudad.

Después del cansancio del día y las colas, fuimos a la Plaza Taksim y a la calle principal, inmensa y con multitud de lugares y bares, comimos típica comida y disfrutamos de una noche genial.

El sábado visitamos las Cisternas subterráneas de la Basílica, un complejo de ingeniería de la época romana, una maravilla. Nos dirigimos al parque y al Palacio de Topkapi que vimos por fuera, ya que había una cola inmensa y muy caro. Pero pudimos apreciar la inmensidad del palacio más importante del Imperio Otomano. Después de un paseo, hicimos un crucero por el Bósforo, casi 2 horas cruzando la ciudad, un espectáculo visual. Terminamos el día en el Bazar de las Especias dónde compramos varios condimentos y tras otro día agotador volvimos a casa dónde nos esperaba una buena cena, ducha y descansar para el último día.

El domingo con mi amiga Nesli fuimos hasta Taksim y recorrimos la zona, vimos el antiguo estadio del Besiktas, una mezquita super bonita y un palacio inmenso. Después de un paseo por la zona maritima, tomamos el bote para cruzar a la zona asiática. Una vez allí nos encontramos con un amigo suyo y fuimos a comer unos deliciosos gofres muy típicos de la zona para acabar en una terraza tomando té y disfrutando del sol. Por la tarde nos encontramos con mi querida amiga Beril, que conocí en el intercambio en Rumanía, estuvimos en las rocas al lado de la playa hablando y tomando unas cervezas. Después estuvimos en la zona de bares del lugar.

Para terminar la noche, cenamos el original y auténtico Lahmacun y me encontré con mi querida amiga Esra y tomando un batido en un local de la zona.
Un día relajado y alejado del turismo convencional, regresamos a casa en metro bus, un transporte en bus pero en carril especial, muy rápido y en casa tomando el famoso Raki, típico de Turquía.

El último día, tuvimos un fuerte desayuno para el viaje de vuelta, todo el día viajando hasta la madrugada que por fin llegamos a Detva y descansar después de un viaje fantástico y preparar la semana y poner todo a punto para celebrar el Día de la Tierra y el Intercambio a Eslovenia.

Spice Bazar

How I said in the previous post, here I will talk about my Easter holidays. Since Gema and I went to Serbia, we decided to visit Istanbul and when we found an affordable flight, we booked it. After an afternoon trip to Budapest where we had our tickets we were in a hostel and enjoyed the city night.

The next day we took the plane and arrived in Istanbul, we took several buses and after more than 3 hours, we got Nesli's house (my Erasmus friend) is 70 Km (it's the same city), we settled, good shower, her mother cooked us a delicious Turkish dinner and went for a beer with a friend.

After a good night's rest and a typical Turkish breakfast we went to the center after hours from bus and tram, with crazy traffic. We visited the Grand Bazaar, the oldest market in Europe and the largest in the world, with more than 60 streets and 4,000 shops, a wonderful place where you can find everything.

Then we visited the streets of the old part where are the Sofia Museum, one of the wonders of the world, as this building can see the opulence of the Byzantine Empire and the Mosque that was after the conquest of Constantinople, was worth it, long queue and price.
After we visited the Blue Mosque, another great wonder of the Ottoman Empire.

We follow the ancient walls and cross the bridge to see the Galata Tower and climbed where we saw the great sights of the city.

After the tiring day and queues, we went to Taksim Square and the main street, huge, with plenty of bars, we ate local food and enjoyed a great night.

On Saturday we visited the underground Basilica Cistern, a complex engineering from Roman times, wonderful. We headed to the park and Topkapi Palace we saw outside, as there was a long queue and very expensive. But we could appreciate the immensity of the most important palace of the Ottoman Empire. After a walk, we took a cruise on the Bosphorus, almost 2 hours to cross the city by river, a visual spectacle. We ended the day at the Spice Bazaar where we bought various condiments and after another long day we returned home where we expected a good meal, shower and rest for the last day.

On Sunday with my friend went to Taksim and we toured the area, we saw the old stadium of Besiktas, one Super nice mosque and a huge palace. After a walk through the maritime zone, take the boat across to the Asian side . Once there we met a friend of her and we went to eat delicious waffles, very typical of this place and end up on a terrace drinking tea and enjoying the sun. In the afternoon we met my dear friend Beril, who I met on exchange in Romania, we were on the rocks next to the beach talking and having a few beers. After we were in the local bars.
To end the night, we ate the original and authentic Lahmacun and I met my dear friend Esra and taking a drinks in the local area.
A relaxing day away from conventional tourism, returned home by bus metro, a bus transportation but especially rail, very fast and in house, taking the famous Raki, typical of Turkey.

The last day, we had a good breakfast for the return trip, all day we travel until the morning and finally got to Detva and unwind after a fantastic trip and prepare for the week and put everything in place to celebrate Earth Day and the Youth Exchange in Slovenia.
