Well, we are on Christmas, this holidays will be different, far away from my family, but surrounded by friends, and tell you the next year, but here I am gonna leave this post with all the crafts we have done in these months in the association.

Promotion 4ºB - EVS visit Rimavska Sobota

Estamos de vuelta con otra entrada y os voy a contar mi último fin de semana para que lleguen las vacaciones de Navidad.

Promotion 4ºB

Después de una semana dando las últimas clases de español e inglés y manualidades con los chicos, llegó el viernes dónde los alumnos de 4ºB y los demás profesores me invitaron a la promoción, una gala increible en el pueblo cercano llamado Hrinova, todos de gala dónde se les puso un lazo verde por su graduación, y se celebró toda la noche con bailes típicos, música, un programa diseñado por los propios alumnos sobre temática de comedia y un broche final con encendido de velas y contando la historia de cada uno y hacen un círculo con su tutor y beben de una jarra de vino, al final el profesor rompe la jarra en el suelo y cada estudiante debe coger un trozo que representa un pedazo de la familia que se va a separar para que cada uno siga su camino. Una ceremonia muy interesante donde pude conocer muy de cerca las costrumbres de Eslovaquia.

Fue muy importante para mí ya que fue mi primera gala que asistía en la mesa de profesores.

Después de otra inmersión cultural, llegó el momento de visitar otra ciudad dónde viven otros dos voluntarios, fui al este a Rimavska Sobota, una pequeña ciudad dónde conocí a Antoine y Mindi (un francés y un lituano) dónde pasamos un fin de semana distinto, fuimos en coche a otras ciudades cercanas y disfrutar de Eslovaquia. Terminamos el fin de semana con una mini ruta a las montañas dónde había un manantial de agua natural y visitar algunas cuevas. Y pasando unas noches divertidas viendo videos y riendo conociéndonos mejor y abrir nuestro círculo de amistades.

Y de vuelta a Detva para terminar la última semana de trabajo del año preparando el Mercado de Navidad con varias manualidades que ya os contaré en la próxima entrada.

We're back with another post and I 'll tell you my last weekend before Christmas holidays .

After a week giving the last classes of Spanish and English and doing crafts with the kids, onFriday the students of 4 º B and the other teachers invited me to the promotion, an incredible gala at the nearby town Hrinova. The graduation, the students received a green ribbon, and was held overnight with dances, music, a program designed by the students on themes of comedy and at the end they light a candle and telling the story of each and make a circle with their tutor and drink a jar of wine , in the end the teacher breaks the jar down and each student must take a piece that represents a piece of the family to be apart for everyone to follow their path. A very interesting ceremony where I have known traditional costume of Slovakia.

It was very important for me because it was my first show I attended at the teacher's table .

After another cultural immersion, it was time to visit another city where other twovolunteers live, I went to the east to Rimavska Sobota, a small town where I met Antoine and Mindi (a French and Lithuanian guys) where we spent a different weekend, drove to other nearby cities and we enjoy Slovakia. We ended the weekend with a mini trip to the mountains where there was a natural spring and visit some caves. And going on a fun night watching videos and laughing knowing us better and open our circle of friends.

And back to Detva to finish last year's work week preparing the Christmas market with various craftsthat  I'll tell you in the next post .

St. Nicholas - My Birthday

Estoy aquí otra vez,  :) Después de la primera nevada.

Os voy a empezar a contar sobre una tradición navideña, San Nicolás, es muy parecido a Santa Claus, pero más parecido a un obispo y va con un ángel y un demonio, según como se hayan portado los niños, reciben cosas buenas o malas.

Celebramos durante dos días la festividad, yo era el demonio e iba con mi vara asustando a los niños al lado de San Nicolás (Mikulas en Eslovaquia). El segundo día estuvimos recorriendo todas las guarderías del pueblo y por la tarde por el centro. Fue una experiencia increible.

Pero el plato fuerte llegaría al final de la tarde del día 6, ya que me hicieron una fiesta sorpresa en el centro de juventud, con comida, bebida y una tarta muy especial ;) Una noche inolvidable con unos grandes amigos eslovacos.

La fiesta continuó al día siguiente, ya que algunos voluntarios decidimos a celebrar mi cumpleaños y el de Gema a Banska Bystrica, a la disco "Ministry of Fun" dónde disfrutamos del mercado navideño de la ciudad y de una noche de baile y fiesta sin parar.

Para terminar, dar las gracias a todos los que se acordaron de mi por todos los medios posibles, haciendo que este cumple sea un poco distinto pero parecido a los demás, ya que sentía todos muy cercanos.

Ya se está acabando el año, pero todavía quedan cosas por contar.

I'm here again :) After the first snowfall .

Banska Bystrica

I'm going to start telling about a Christmas tradition, St. Nicholas, is similar to Santa Claus, but more like a bishop and going with an angel and a demon, depending on how children behaved, receive good or bad things .

We celebrate the festival for two days, I was the devil and went with my rod, scaring children with Saint Nicholas (Mikulas in Slovakia). The second day we were visiting all nurseries from the town and afternoon in the centre. It was an incredible experience .

But the highlight reach the end of the afternoon of the 6th december, and my friends made me a surprise party at the youth center, with food, drink and a very special cake ;) An unforgettable evening with some great friends Slovaks .

The party continued the next day, as some volunteers decided to celebrate my birthday and Gema's too in Banska Bystrica, to the disco " Ministry of Fun" where we enjoyed the Christmas market in the city and a night of dancing and partying nonstop .

Finally, I want to thank everyone who remembered me, making this birthday a little different but similar to others because I felt all very close .

So, the year is ending, but there are still things to tell.

Noches eslovacas y Mercado navideño en Bratislava-Slovak nights and Xmas Market in Bratislava

Hola después de un buen tiempo sin vernos ;)

Aquí os voy a contar cómo son las fiestas eslovacas, después de más de un mes viajando me quedé en Detva el fin de semana para celebrar el cumpleaños de Livia (mi mentora).

Después de una semana de trabajo, el viernes fuimos a las discotecas del pueblo, donde pasamos una noche espectacular bailando, riendo y conociendo nueva gente.

Al día siguiente, después de un día de descanso, una amiga mía me invitó a su casa porque su tío celebraba su santo, me ví dentro de una fiesta completamente eslovaca, curiosos por mí, con mucha comida, bebida y música. También por su abuelo me enseñó todo su trabajo en madera, ya que es un famoso carpintero local.

Un finde completamente diferente que me llevó a otra semana un poco distinta, ya que la última vez que fui a Bratislava, mis amigos voluntarios me comentaron sobre sus talleres con niños autistas, entonces decidimos colaborar para hacer manualidades, así que después de una mañana de lunes haciendo Centros de Navidad en el centro social, me dirigí para la capital. Me encontré de nuevo con Simon, Laimona y Azahara y fuimos a SPOSA, la asociación que trabaja para niños autistas, fueron dos días intensos trabajando y haciendo manualidades y decoraciones navideñas, ya que las van a vender en el Mercado de Navidad, fue muy interesante ver su trabajo con los autistas.

Ha sido genial, ya que todo mi trabajo está siendo muy variado y gratificante, así que estoy en Detva otra vez, preparado para celebrar San Nicolás y MI CUMPLE!!! ;) Pero eso os lo contaré en la próxima.

Hi after a long time no see ;)

Here I'll tell you how it is Slovak parties, after more than one month traveling, I stay in Detva the weekend to celebrate Livia's birthday (my mentor) .

After a week of work, on Friday we went to the clubs of the town, where we spent a great night dancing, laughing and meeting new people .

The next day, after a rest day, a friend of mine invited me to her house because her uncle celebrated his name's Day. I found myself in a completely Slovak party, curious for me, with lots of food, drink and music. Also by her grandfather taught me all their work in wood, as it is a well known local carpenter.

A completely different weekend it took me another week a little differently, since the last time I went to Bratislava, my volunteer friends told me about their workshops with autistic children, so we decided together to do handcrafts, so after a morning of Christmas Centers by Monday at the community center, I headed for the capital. I met again with Simon, Laimona and Azahara and I went to SPOSA, the association works to autistic children, were two intense days working and doing crafts and Christmas decorations, they will sell at the Christmas market, was very interesting see them work with autistic .

It has been great since all my work has been very varied and rewarding, so I'm in Detva again, ready to celebrate St. Nicholas and MY BIRTHDAY! ;) But I'll tell you in the next time.

Prencov-Banska Stiavnica-Partyslava

Hola de nuevo

El tiempo pasa y el frío llega con más intensidad. Mientras tanto sigue todo fenomenal, las clases y todo el trabajo, pero en esta entrada os voy a contar sobre los siguientes findes desde el arrival training.

Gema, Kristine, Gio (Prencov)

El círculo de EVS se ha ampliado y empezamos a visitar a la gente en sus respectivas ciudades, el primer finde tocó ir a Prencov donde se alojan Kristine de Letonia, Gio de Georgia y Gemma de Málaga, allí fui con otros dos EVS del seminario. El lugar se encuentra cerca de Banska Stiavnica, un lugar pequeño pero super bonito.

Donde viven ellos, es una casa-granja, todo muy ecológico y natural, con eco-toilet y chimeneas para calentar la casa. Pasamos una primera noche fantástica con los timbales y varios instrumentos musicales. Al día siguiente, estuvimos todo el día de ruta de senderismo hasta llegar a unas ruinas celtas, fue espectacular y por la noche fuimos a la ciudad de Banska Stiavnika para disfrutar de su ambiente y de la fiesta.

Al día siguiente, después de dormir bien, dimos un paseo por el pueblo y fuimos a la ciudad, vi su castillo, las minas y todos los monumentos que pude, ya que es patrimonio de la UNESCO.

Para acabar el día, me encontré con un amigo de erasmus de Bratislava en su coche que me reconoció, me quedé sorprendido al ver lo pequeño que es el mundo. 

Después de un paseo por la ciudad y comprar unos souvenirs volví a Detva.

La semana pasó rápido y este finde decidimos visitar a Simon, el chico francés que vive en Bratislava, allí conocí a sus compis, una malagueña y una lituana, todos muy simpáticos y disfrutamos de una noche genial en la capital.

Al día siguiente vino Alba y dimos un paseo por la ciudad y por la noche fuimos al Mercado de Navidad donde tomamos comida y bebida típica. También me encontré con mi querida Silvia, quedamos con ella para recordar viejos momentos de nuestra vida de Erasmus.

El domingo fue un día de lluvia y mal tiempo, así que descansamos de un finde de fiesta y por la noche volví a mi ciudad para empezar otra semana llena de trabajo, ya os iré contando.

Hello again

Time passes and the cold arrives with more intensity. Meanwhile everything is great, the classes and all the work, but in this post I will tell you about the following weekend after the arrival training.

The circle of EVS has expanded and began to visit people in their respective cities, the first weekend  I went to Prenčov where Kristine from Latvia, Gio from Georgia and Gemma from Malaga lives, there I was with two other EVS from the seminar. The place is located near Banska Stiavnica, small city but super nice place.

Where they live, is a farm house , all very organic and natural, eco -toilet and fireplaces to heat the house. We had a great first night with drums and various musical instruments. The next day, we were all day hiking trail up to some Celtic ruins, it was spectacular and at night we went to the city of Banska Stiavnika to enjoy the party atmosphere .

The next day, after sleeping well, we walked through the village and we went into town, I saw the castle, mines and all the monuments as I could, since it is a UNESCO heritage site .

To finish the day, I met a friend of my Erasmus from Bratislava in his car and he recognized me, I was surprised to see how small the world is. 

After a walk around town and buy some souvenirs i came back to Detva.

The week passed quickly and decided to visit this weekend to Simon, the French guy living in Bratislava, where I met his housemates, a girl from Malaga and a Lithuanian girl, all very friendly and we enjoyed a great night in the capital.

The next day came Alba and we took a walk around town and at night we went to the Christmas market where we took food and typical drink. I also met my dear Silvia, I stayed with her to remember old times in our Erasmus life.

Sunday was a day of rain and bad weather, so we rested a holiday weekend and in the evening I returned to my hometown to start another week of work, and I 'll tell you soon ;)

Doble celebración - Double celebration

Ahoj!!

Antes de escribir mi entrada sobre el viaje, quiero dedicar este post principalmente a un día como hoy de 2007. Suena lejano, pero todavía está muy presente en mí. Esta fecha marcó un antes y un después en mi vida, ya que me embarqué a la aventura y viajar a Rumanía con un proyecto de Juventud en Acción, un intercambio juvenil dónde fuimos España, Portugal, Rumanía, Lituania y Turquía. Fue algo inolvidable para mí y es lo que me motivó para viajar al extranjero, conocer nuevas culturas y realizar todo tipo de proyectos juveniles tanto nacionales e internacionales. 

Por eso le dedico este post a ese proyecto, porque si no lo hubiera hecho, no estaría hoy aquí.

Y segundo, hoy ha salido publicado en el periódico local mi proyecto. Está en eslovaco, por si queréis leerlo. :) Por lo demás todo perfecto, sigo con mis clases, haciendo talleres para los niños discapacitados y me grabaron en una conferencia que hice sobre España, ya os enseñaré cuando esté listo el montaje.

Ahoj!!

Before writing my new post about the trip, I want to dedicate it of a day like today of 2007. Sounds long time ago, but is still present in myself. This date marked a before and after in my life and I joined at this adventure and travel to Romania with a project of Youth in Action, a youth exchange where we were Spain, Portugal, Romania, Lithuania and Turkey. It was an unforgettable experience for me and is what motivated myself to travel abroad, experience new cultures and all kinds of projects, both national and international youth .

So I dedicate this post to that project, because if I wouldn't had, I wouldn't be here today.

And second, today has been published in the local newspaper my project. It is in Slovak, in case you want to read it. :) Otherwise, everything going perfect, I continue with my classes, doing workshops for disabled children and I was recorded at a conference that I made about Spain, I will show when will be ready.

Curso a la Llegada - Arrival Training Course

Hola a tod@s después de un largo tiempo, estos últimos días se celebró el curso a la llegada de los EVS, han sido 5 días inolvidables dónde hemos conocido a varios voluntarios de toda Eslovaquia y compartido experiencias y vivencias y ampliar nuestro círculo de amistades fuera de nuestro lugar de trabajo.

Os voy a resumir como han sido estos 5 días:

Viernes 8 de Noviembre:

First dinner (so sweet)

A las 6 de la mañana tomé el bus para Cadca, al norte, allí visité el pueblo y me reuní con otros dos voluntarios en Keric, su asociación, Isa de Alemania y Josué de Costa Rica, después tomamos el bus a Oscadnica  y aquí empezamos a conocer a otros voluntarios. 

Cuando llegamos, rellenamos unos formularios y nos entregaron los cuartos, yo compartí con Josué. A las 6 de la tarde comenzamos el training y uno de los monitores, Tereza, la conocia de cuando estuve de Erasmus, vaya, el mundo es super pequeño.

Hicimos una breve presentación e introducción de cada uno y de donde veníamos de Eslovaquia y terminamos el día con una cena dulce y una noche de cerveza y charla.

Sábado 9 de Noviembre:

Presentations

Comenzó otro día, después de un buen desayuno, todos los voluntarios hicimos un poster explicando nuestro proyecto y el trabajo que hacemos, por la tarde los monitores nos prepararon unos juegos cooperativos que teníamos que resolver, era una telaraña y había que pasar al otro lado sin tocar las cuerdas ni repetir el agujero, al final lo conseguimos. Después de una evaluación, fuimos a la cena y la noche hicimos el grupo latino unas clases de baile.

Domingo 10 de Noviembre:
Un día soleado, hicimos una dinámica llamada "Un año de tu vida" cada 10 min era un mes, hasta completar 2 horas y teníamos diferentes dinámicas simulando la realidad, aprendí mucho con este juego.
Por la tarde hicimos una pequeña ruta por la montaña hasta llegar a un calvario y después hicimos unas dinámicas y juegos cooperativos al aire libre muy divertidos, con los ojos tapados y sin hacer ruido.
Después de la cena, decidimos hacer una gran fiesta, esa noche fue inolvidable.

Lunes 11 de Noviembre:
Nuestra excursión a la frontera de Polonia se vio suspendida ya que el día fue muy malo y no paraba de llover. Se cambió el plan y por la mañana y se hizo varias dinámicas en grupos de desarrollo personal con preguntas y trabajo en equipo. Por la tarde hicimos como una caza del tesoro por el pueblo y al finalizar el día hablando de Eslovaquia y que ver en cada ciudad.
La noche fue tranquila con algunos bailes y risas.

Martes 12 de Noviembre:
El curso llegó a su fin con un día soleado :/ La mañana la dedicamos a hablar sobre internet y como buscar y ayudarnos en nuestra vida. Tuvimos un almuerzo más temprano de lo normal y cada uno volvimos a nuestras ciudades.
Ha sido una semana inolvidable que ha servido para conocernos y viajar y aumentar nuestros contactos.

La semana ha sido corta, pero gratificante volver al trabajo, y encima con nuevo frigo, y este fin de semana la primera visita EVS a Banska Stiavnica, pero eso será en otra entrada.

A year of my life

Hi everyone after a long time, these last few days was held during the arrival of the EVS, have been 5 unforgettable days where we met several volunteers throughout Slovakia and shared life experiences and expand our circle of friends outside our workplace.

I 'll summarize as have been these five days :

Friday November 8:
At 6am in the morning I took the bus to Cadca, to the north, there I visited the village and met with two other volunteers in Keric, their association, Isa from Germany and Josué from Costa Rica, after we took the bus to Oscadnica and here we began to meet other volunteers.

When we arrived, we filled out some forms and gave us the room, I shared with Josue.

At 6 pm we started the training and one of the monitors, Tereza, I knew her when I was on Erasmus, well, the world is super-small .

We made a brief presentation and introduction of each other and where we came from Slovakia and finished the day with dinner and a night of beer and talk.

Saturday November 9:
Began another day, after a good breakfast, all the volunteers did a poster explaining our project and the work we do, in the afternoon monitors prepare a cooperative games, we had to solve was a spider net and had to go to the other side without touching the strings or repeating the hole, at the end we got it. After an assessment, we went to dinner and the night was latino dance classes.

Sunday November 10:
A sunny day, we made a dynamic called "A year of your life" every 10 min was a month to complete two hours and had different dynamics simulating reality, I learned a lot with this game.

In the afternoon we did a little tour through the mountains to reach a calvary and then we did a dynamic and cooperative games fun outdoors, blindfolded and quietly .
After dinner, we decided to have a big party, that night was unforgettable.

Monday November 11:
Our excursion to the border of Poland was suspended because the day was very bad and did not stop raining. They changed the plan and in the morning we took several dynamics about personal development and teamwork questions. In the afternoon we did a treasure hunt through the village and at the end of the day we were talking about Slovakia and what to see in each city.
The night was quiet with some dancing and laugh.


Tuesday November 12:
The course ended with a sunny day :/ morning, we spoke about the Internet and search and help us in our lives. We had lunch earlier than usual and each returned to our cities .
It was an unforgettable week has served to meet and travel and increase our contacts.

The week has been short, but rewarding to return to work, and with new fridge!!!, 
and this weekend, first visit to EVS friends: Banska Stiavnica, but that will be in another post .
